Bringing flu forecasts to more countries

7 March 2025

In recent months, our company has increased its local forecasts for influenza (Flu A and Flu B), enabling communities to stay informed about seasonal outbreaks. In the coming weeks, we will mark a notable step: our flu forecasts will extend to as many countries as our current COVID-19 forecasts, covering a total population of approximately 1 billion people. This expansion enables us to provide tailored, local flu insights to a greater number of people.

Looking forward, we plan to introduce our forecasts to additional countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas in the next few months. This will enhance the availability of reliable, region-tailored forecasts for diverse populations. Additionally, our forecasts may offer particular value to those more vulnerable to infectious diseases, providing information about estimated levels of viral activity to support their planning and preparedness.

We are also investigating new opportunities to broaden our offerings. Our team is currently exploring forecasting for general winter colds—referred to as influenza-like-illnesses (ILI) in public health. These common seasonal illnesses contribute to winter health challenges, and our efforts aim to provide predictive insights to help people be informed about them as well. By incorporating ILI into our forecasting capabilities, we seek to offer a more comprehensive view of seasonal respiratory trends.

As a company dedicated to delivering accessible and actionable infectious disease forecasts, we remain committed to refining and expanding our services. As we expand our coverage to new countries and develop forecasts for ILI, we will continue to keep you updated on our progress. Our focus is on providing dependable, localized information to support communities worldwide.
